Darwen v Accrington
QEGS
Accrington were looking to start the season with an early win against Darwen, with this in mind the coach left Hyndburn Leisure Centre at 7:30pm and arrived at QEGS at 7:50pm on Thursday 19th March, with every one in good spirits, our new Gala squad members were a little nervous but this soon settled down once the races began.
The races started well with Accrington leading the way, hardly giving Darwen a chance to come back at us. Therefore giving us a cracking win to start the season, Darwen 49pts and Accrington 67pts.
A BIG well done to everyone who worked hard, behaved exceptional, and were a credit to the club.

Gt Harwood v Accrington
The coach arrived early at Hyndburn on Monday 30th March, ready for our journey to Mercer Hall Great Harwood.
When every one had embarked on the coach there was a general feeling of nervousness, as Great Harwood had returned from the heady heights of the first division.
After a shaky start Accrington came back tenfold to be leading by a few points with 5 races to go, both teams were tense as the final races took place but this time it was not meant to be for us, with a score of Great Harwood 60pts and Accrington 57pts.
Albeit we only lost by 3 points this was still a fantastic result for us. Our team did a great job swimming in a pool which was small (22 metres), cramped and the water was cloudy but still managed to do so well. It will be interesting when we host the home leg of the gala where they will have to work harder.
A VERY BIG well done to you all, despite the conditions you swam in, you all worked hard and again behaved well making the club PROUD.

West Craven v Accrington
A panic stricken start to Wednesday 29/04/09 evenings gala, when the staff had turned up at Hyndburn Leisure Centre to be greeted by a smaller than ordered coach! Luckily a couple of parents had decided to go by car so therefore it was sufficient, although full! (Many Thanks).
Everyone was in good spirits as the coach made it's way to West Craven.
Although there were some disqualifications on both sides, Accrington knuckled down and swam well with some very close races won, which at the end of the night gave us a fantastic win with a score of West Craven 50pts and. Accrington 63pts.
A big well done and thank-you to everyone who took part in the recent gala at West Craven.
We have swum all our away galas now. Our next gala is at home to Great Harwood. If you remember at the away gala we only just got beat by 3 pts by the Otters, so this gala should be quite an exciting thriller. All your vocal support will be very much appreciated like it was on Wednesdays Gala (when the cheering nearly deafened everyone!!).
The club would like to thank all the parents who made it to West Craven and supported the team and also to the swimmers themselves who again worked and behaved so well, a credit to the club.

Accrington v Darwen
In a gala that saw both sides missing some swimmers and despite 5 disqualifications including both teams in the Girls 13 and under Medly Relay this was an exciting gala. Accrington took an early 6pt lead but were hauled in by Darwen by midway through the event. Darwen led twice (briefly) before Accrington resumed accumulating what ended as a 6pt difference. Accrington won 23 races to Darwens 16. Congratulations to all swimmers
