Darwen v Accrington
QEGS
The night was damp and nasty as everyone boarded the coach for the last away Gala of the season, but spirits were high as the coach left Hyndburn Leisure Centre for QEGS. Due to lack of traffic the coach arrived early and we weren't allowed into QEGS, so an impromptu party was had on the coach until they let us in.
Again another close and exciting Gala was had, with Accrington emerging victorious 55-59.
Well done to all our swimmers on the night for another fantastic Gala and we look forward to welcoming them to Hyndburn.
And a big thank you to all our volunteers on the night, without whom these Galas would be difficult to organize.

West Craven v Accrington
West Craven
Accrington were looking to build on our initial success after their win against Todmorden in May. The coach departed at 6:30 pm on Wednesday llth June 2008 to arrive for the warm up at 7:45 pm with the first race underway by 8:00 pm.
This was the first time Accrington had swum against West Craven, so everyone was excited about swimming against an unknown squad. Unfortunately we lost this time 61-57, but we shall be looking forward to the re-match on home turf when the gala has been arranged for later in the summer.
A big well done to all our swimmers on the night for their total enthusiasm and commitment, and to the parents who volunteered to help on the night.
